Michael Kost, DNP, CRNA is the Program Director of a nurse anesthesia educational program in a mid-atlantic state. He received his Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from Widener University, his anesthesia clinical education at the Frank J. Tornetta School of Anesthesia at Montgomery Hospital, Master of Science in anesthesia and healthcare administration from Saint Joseph's University and Master of Science in Nursing as a geriatric clinical nurse specialist from Gwynedd Mercy College. Michael recently completed his Doctorate in Nursing Practice at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and his Post-Master's Certificate in Nursing Education from La Salle University School of Nursing.

He is the author of two award winning texts on Moderate Sedation/Analgesia. The ‘Manual of Conscious Sedation’ (W. B. Saunders) was the first text of its kind to assemble into a single source all of the information needed to ensure quality care for patients receiving sedation/analgesia. His latest publication entitled ‘Moderate Sedation/Analgesia: Core Competencies for Practice’ (Elsevier Science) provides non-anesthesia sedation practitioners with all of the necessary competencies required to provide safe, clinically competent sedation patient care. Additionally, he is a featured speaker for the Specialty Health Education, Inc. seminar series entitled 'Annual Perianesthesia Nursing Update Series' offered each Fall. He is a respected author, consultant and educator on a wide variety of topics including pharmacology, perianesthesia, perioperative, sedation/analgesia and patient safety issues.

In the last 15 years, Michael has personally provided and participated in the education of over 20,000 sedation nurses, physicians, dentists and allied healthcare workers!
